Announcing our support for Link Pride 2022
Superscript are hugely excited to be supporting Link, the cross-insurance LGBTQ+ network and the Link Pride 2022 campaign.
To mark the 50th Anniversary of Pride, we want to do something extra special. We’re taking part in a market-wide design competition and supporting Queer Frontiers, an art exhibition with ARTIQ and Link that will run from June 30 to July 10 in London’s Soho. The exhibition will feature international artists in an event that celebrates all forms of diversity.
The design competition will run throughout Pride month and into July and be accompanied by a series of creative and educational events. We will be asking the team at Superscript to consider and reflect on the 50th anniversary of Pride and what that means to them, and share this for the chance to have their design brief turned into reality.
In August, a shortlist of design briefs that reflect what the 50th anniversary of Pride means will be chosen and an expert panel will select the top three designs.
In September, the three finalists – whether they are an individual or a team – will each be paired with an artist to create a maquette based on their design, with the winner announced at an event to mark LGBTQ+ History Month in February 2023.
Proceeds from this initiative will go to the Albert Kennedy Trust, a voluntary organisation who serve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environments, and Outside In, a national charity that provides a platform for artists who face significant barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance or isolation. The campaign aims to raise tens of thousands of pounds to support their vital work.
Running alongside the art competition will be a series of webinars, in-person panel events, talks and networking opportunities run by Link, ARTIQ and the charitable partners.
