ITC Vegas

What happens in Vegas doesn't always have to stay in Vegas.

At least, we hope not. Because later this month, Superscript CEO Chris Barclay and Tori Butler, MD SME, are heading to ITC Vegas 2026 to meet with insurers, brokers, technology providers and potential partners from across the industry.

For Superscript, ITC is an opportunity to talk about where SME insurance goes next, the role technology, data and AI can play in getting it there, and the partnerships that can help turn that ambition into something tangible. It's also a chance to continue conversations around Specialty and the distribution opportunities Superscript sees in North America.

For Tori and the SME team, that means looking beyond simply digitising the traditional insurance journey. The bigger opportunity is to understand businesses better, create more relevant experiences and make insurance a more natural part of the platforms and services they already use.

For Chris, the focus is broader: sharing Superscript's ambition for SME insurance, strengthening the relationships already helping to deliver it and finding new partners across distribution, capacity and technology.

Building a smarter model for SME insurance

Running a small business increasingly means running a digital business.

Payments, accounting, ecommerce, advertising, stock management — plenty of the day-to-day can now be managed through the platforms and services business owners already know. Insurance has made plenty of digital progress too, but Tori believes there's an opportunity to go much further than putting the traditional journey online.

Tori Butler, MD SME Superscript

ITC is a great opportunity to connect with the people shaping the future of insurance. At Superscript, we’re bringing together technology, data, AI and great talent to build a smarter model for SME insurance that delivers better customer outcomes and creates commercial advantage. I’m looking forward to strengthening existing partnerships, building new relationships and sharing ideas with others pushing the insurance industry forward.

That smarter model isn't just about making insurance easier to buy. It's about using technology to better understand what individual businesses need — and thinking differently about where and how they encounter insurance in the first place. She goes on to say:

The next phase of innovation in SME insurance is about moving beyond simply digitising the traditional journey. The real opportunity is to use technology, data and AI to understand customers better, personalise their experience and respond more precisely to their needs. I think the even greater opportunity is to bring all of that into the platforms and services they already use.

It's a conversation Tori will be looking to continue in Vegas, particularly with businesses interested in finding better ways to get relevant insurance in front of SMEs at the right time.

Finding the right partners to make it happen

Technology may be central to Superscript's ambition, but delivering it isn't something that happens in isolation. Distribution partners, insurers, capacity providers and technology businesses all have a role to play — which makes an event bringing so much of the insurance market together particularly valuable.

For Chris, that makes ITC as much about the relationships as the technology.

Christopher Barclay, CEO Superscript

Few events bring the insurance market together at the scale of ITC. I’m excited to spend time with partners we already value, reconnect with people we know and build new relationships across distribution, capacity and technology.

Those conversations aren't limited to SME. Superscript will also be looking to develop relationships around its Specialty business, including opportunities in North America, where the right distribution and capacity partnerships could support its wider growth ambitions.

But whether the conversation is about SME or Specialty, Chris's priority for ITC is finding partners that can help turn ambition into something real and says:

Superscript has a big ambition for SME insurance. ITC gives us the chance to share that ambition, learn from some of the best people in the market and find the partners who want to help us make it real. The best opportunities start with the right conversation, and there will be plenty of those in Las Vegas.

Where partners come in

For SME, that could mean working with digital platforms, marketplaces and other businesses that already support small businesses day to day. Bringing insurance into those existing relationships creates an opportunity to make getting covered more relevant and convenient for customers, while giving partners another way to support the businesses using their services.

In Specialty, the partnerships may look different. Superscript is interested in connecting with brokers, MGAs, carriers and other distribution partners to explore how specialist risks can reach the right expertise and capacity more effectively, including opportunities to build new relationships in North America.

ITC gives Chris and Tori the opportunity to have both kinds of conversation: sharing what Superscript is building, understanding what potential partners and their customers need, and seeing where those ambitions overlap.
